That's probably another one of the doubled dies. Look on Wexler and let us know the #. otherwise you may have a "new" one.

 

That's a good one. It was a tossup mirror in the window or small window in the window, they all sound good \V/

 

The closest one I found in Wexler's was WDDR-001 that one was in the lower right window and bigger so we do know it's a WDDR \V/

Not trying to downplay the discovery... does a variety first have to be confirmed by a second coin with the same mark before it is officially cataloged as a discovery?

Regardless if a variety or not, good observation.

I believe that at least one of the "chicken" TPGS's still feels this way...

A while back, many of the professionals were "ex-coin dealers" not variety specialists. Collectors could often "cherrypick" naked-eye varieties in slabs. A coin like this would never be certified w/o another example. Thankfully, the services have improved and as far as I can tell they all have at least one variety professional (some better than others) in the office + outside consultants.

The real specialists like Potter, Wiles, Wexler, Fivaz...on and on (apologies to everyone left out) don't need another specimen. It is what it is.

 

No. An error is an error and a double die is a double die weather another is found or not. If it's new he can send it to mike or James or ken or john I think for review and to be cataloged

 

Being a picker you put your hand in the bucket and pull a coin out and only can hope it's a good one By the way I'm one of the many on this site that do like cracks \V/

 

Actually it's being catalogued and displayed on coin talk. And it does not cost me 12 bucks to send it in to Wexler and get it officially catalogued so right now it is unofficial, I can live with that, and as I found previously on this site if any of them are interested they will let me know and I will work out arrangements. And I'll be happy with the two I have listed on cuds on coins and it didn't cost me anything.
