Are These Two Saints the Same Coin?

I was looking around on ebay and noticed something about the following completed auction for a 1923 PCGS MS-64 Saint, as well as the current auction for an NNC MS-66 Saint:

    PCGS MS 64 1923 Saint

The winning bidder was the notorious Powerseller Centsles.

Now, Centsles is selling the following 1923 Saint in an NNC MS-66 holder:

    NNC MS 66 1923 Saint

Are the two coins the same coin?? I bet they are.

From my limited experience with NNC (3 coins), I would be very surprised if that were the same coin. If PCGS would give it a 64, NNC would be a minimum of 67. Having said that, I did win a couple PCGS coins from Centsles and was very pleased with his service.

I agree with RLM ....I don't think they are the same.... I blew up the pictures and think it is pretty clearly two different coins...

I vote for the same coin.
They both seem to have the same bag marks in the same locations. Although, the first picture is a little out of focus, I think they are the same coin.

Exhibit 1: Scratch to the right of the head appears similar in both coins.
Exhibit 2: Marking on the right side ray #5 also appears in both coins.
Exhibit 3: Discoloration to the right of the ray 5 mark appears in both coins.
Exhibit 4: Bag mark on left side rays 3, 4, 5 appears to be in both coins.

I'll leave it in the hands of the Jury.

I know the seller's pic in the PCGS holder is small, but it looks to me like both coins have the same contact mark just to the right of Liberty's face.

I say 100% yes it is the same coin - look at the tick above the 4th ray on the right side- & the line that runs around the rim by the beak on the reverse.

Centsles = NNC SELF SLABBER .

We have a tie - 3 for and 3 against. The tension is building.

The look to be similar, the pictures could be larger. Perhaps there is a reason they are not...

Don't count my previous comment as a vote that they are different. I was being facetious. If you did not catch it, I am not a fan of NNC After looking closely at the coins, I believe that thee is a good chance that they are the same coin. However, I am far from knowledgeable with gold and that PCGS picture leaves a lot to be desired.

Well I have re-examined the photos, I think I was wrong, I think they are the same coin.. On the obverse there is a slight scratch extending from the left of the T in Liberty goin down to her head... This scratch is very evident in both pictures... Good Catch ... Shortgapbob

    They are the same

Vastly different photo techniques make this a tough comparison, but they do appear to be the same coin to my eyes. These two points have been made already, but:

Of particular note is the scratch and mark to the left of the beak on the reverse, it is identical on both coins. Also There is a scratch on the right of the head on the obverse that travels from the cheek almost to the bottom of the T in Liberty. Again identical.

What are the odds that is a coincidence?

How did you discover this Shortgapbob? You must have an amazing visual memory!

They do look very simmilar with several matching marks.I enlarged the pic of the PCGS coin, and even though it is out of focus you can spot more similarities, like the staining/marks under the olive branch.
I,ll be curios to see what the NNC coin sells for.

It is hard to see, I tried to match the bag marks on the leg, but couldn't see it on the NGC coin.
Still, as they say, timing is everything.
    Nice catch.
