Hi All, I have come across this IHC with markings on which is a first for me and was wondering if you can give any feedback as to how and what could have caused thisI have looked on numerous sites but I end up confused as there are so many,so was wondering if you can help. thank's.
The lines apear to be abrasions from the die being dressed down as they are on the parts of the bust that would be the high areas on the die. Most likely the result of removing a clash or surface cracks. Any lines that had been in the field would have been easy for the mint worker to polish out. Check with the Fly in Club ( spelling? ) to see if it is listed.
Your coin is a known IHC variety...S-6, Rick snow is an IHC expert an says they are file marks on the die.
Thankyou for your reply,so it look's like Mr Snow (website) is my next stop.Apreciate your reply, many thank's.
