1921-D Very Good - Mercury Dime Nice, large, close-up images -- so out-of-focus that you can't even read "VG DETAILS" and "IMPROPERLY CLEANED" on the slab unless you already know what you're looking for. I guess you can't get in trouble with eBay for listing an NGC-certified coin as "uncertified" and failing to show the number or both sides of the full slab. I occasionally land a deal by camping out on the new Buy It Now listings, but I sure do wade through a lot of garbage...
It doesn't seem to be out of focus on purpose, look at the other listing. Seller just really sucks at photography. And as a fellow newly listed BIN camper (though in world coins, not US), I agree there is a ton of crud to wade through, but so worth it
The guy has zero Feedback as a seller, and has been on a coin buying spree (indicator of stupid - buying with the same account you sell from) lately. A little research - look for the Feedback language left by the seller, in the seller's Feedback Left listings, for links to some of what he's bought - indicates a bunch of overpriced crud is about to hit the market....
Time to put on the boxing gloves, start to bob & weave to find the good stuff .. Nothing better then ebay ..................
I never considered the coin for a moment. I'm only interested in the listing itself, and that only for entertainment. Having said that, I might be a buyer at $10. At that price, I could flip it for a profit without lying to anybody.
I think extremely blurry pictures like that could be a way to actually scam, as if you can't see anything on the coin it could actually be a different coin than the one on the label.
