Of the three silver eagles in the 20th anniversary set, which one do you guys think will have the most collectibility in the coming years. I want to invest in an expensive coin, and I think the reverse proof is a solid investment. I also think it's cool as heck. Is 400 dollars too much to spend for PCGS 69 for the reserve proof? Thanks
3 pc silver am eagle set cost of 3-pc silver am eagle set is $700.00. unopened box is $1,000.00. 3 pc ms 70 cost few thousand dollars. what more can i say.
You ask a tough question. It is really worth the money you want to pay or is it just a cool coin you want to have? I really feel you have to want the coin even if it ( in the future) loses value or gains in value. That's the mark of a collector. To answer your question: Of the three coins in the anniverary set, the reverse proof will be the long term winner. Also, the uncirculated silver eagle with the W mint mark is also a winner. Both will satisfy your urge to own an expensive coin.
If you have the money to burn and don't need it for rent, food or utilities ...roll the dice. You might win ..you might lose ..but you will still have a coin worth aound $15 melt value.
