    I really like Islamic coinage, esp. the ones from the Moorish Dynasties in Spain. The Seljuks of Rum also produced beautifull material. They were way ahead in dating their coins too!

    Hmmm, it sure looks that way to me too.....but my Arabic is even 'rustier' than my English.

    Your Arabic does not have to be very good to recognize the text in the centre of this coin, as it is part of the Kalima, which is present on almost every islamic coin.
    It reads: Allah / Muhammad / rasul Allah (Muhammad is the messenger of God)
    The lowest line probably is the name of the caliph : "Al-Qahir Billah".

    Panzerman, now I'm curious if your coin has two obverses, or if there's a side we haven't seen yet.
