It has been suggested that this coin belongs to "Martin of Spain", but despite much research I cannot find 'Martin' let alone this coin. If it is early 1300's then it does belong in the 'Ancient' section.

If someone has knowledge and would like to help, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank-you.

    Silver, 17.5mm., 0.8 gm.,
Obv: Legend "MARTINUS DEI GRA REX" (suggested).

Looks like it belongs to Marti 1396-1410 from Majorca/Spain

This is the obverse. I don't see Martin Dei Gra Rex anywhere, but I do see BARCINONA, which is Barcelona. I posted in your first thread this exact thing, but here's a picture to help you better understand. The green letters I assume are there, the red ones are for sure.

    @panzerman
So Yoc is right. Do you know where I might find a reference to this coin, please?
Is there a database of Spanish hammered coins, perhaps?
I have searched CNG, Acseach, Sixbid, Wildwinds, Dr Google, and several other sites without success.

Thanks 'swish' - ever since you posted I have been looking (hard).

    @> silverslicker - WELL DONE!!!
    Thank-you so much.
It worries me a bit how some can find things so quickly and others of us (Me) can 'flounder' around for an eternity.
    Excellent work.

I usually check the auction sites from Cayon/Aureo&Calico/Jesus Vico etc. These sites have a lot of Spanish hammered Medieval material for reference.

    Thank-you for those 'tips'.
Although I couldn't find this coin on any of them, I have made a note of them.

Jaime II isn't Martin, for the record.

I'm not an expert and learned a thing or 2 today. Glad I helped, even though it was in a small way.

I am just 'over the moon' that we were able to 'nail' it in the end.
I have a few more 'fragments' that (hopefully) someone may recognize, and I will post them at some time later on.
Again, my warmest thanks to all.

Ooops! Is my coin JAMIE II of Aragon, or is it JAMIE I of Aragon?

    Magical Snap - 2016.04.01 16.38 - 051.jpg

My preference is JAMIE I of Aragon, because:-
    'regular' nose and not 'beak'
    lower eyelid present
three pellets on left shoulder in place of bow
    shape of hair at neck
    shape of cuirass
    shape of cross on reverse
    shape of circles on reverse
