Ancients => I'm breaking the rules and cooking the Bird "tonight"

We had our Easter feast on Sunday. I must have devoured 6000 calories! We had a German treat. Beef Rouladen (slice of lean beef, smear on mustard/finely chopped onions/stripe of bacon) roll them up with string, braise them in butter till brown/ take them out of pot/ add onions to butter/ brown them/add your braised rouladen/ add water/ pinch sugar/let simmer for 4 hours. When done/ remove beef rouladen, strain gravy/pour gravy back into pot/add 1/2 table cream/flour to thicken. Now your rouladen/gravy(my fav.) are done. We then make creamed mashed potatoes with cream/butter/ red cabbage cooked in red wine/ white asparagus with white sauce...yummy!

Better late then never. The family round the table, we had broiled mutton, ham, colored boiled eggs and scotch whisky for lunch. That was happy. But there was no champagne or birds, the like of Phoenix to symbolize the ever- lasting resurrection. HAPPY EASTER

Yah, poor ol' Buster has been chewing his paw for the past few days, so unfortunately the doctor has decided that the "cone of punishment" is in order ...

=> man, is there anything more pitiful/cute than a dog in a cone? (awww, poor lil' guy, eh?)

 

I simply couldn't stand being in a cone like that, and would scream all day long ----> I scream in a cone !

our dog gets skin allergies, he'll chew and itch till he bleeds. usually we have to give him some steroid pills.

 

This is a very nice coin, but the reverse with the detail in the elephants looks simply tremendous!
