20160327_105203.jpg 20160327_105150.jpg 20160327_105136.jpg I found an old collection of wheat backs and stumbled across these three Lincoln cents. Please note; these are not plated in any fashion; they are authentic silver metal. Where did they come from? I dont know but I am sending them to NGC as soon as I can for metallurgical testing and I will keep the results posted. I also thought that these could be foreign planchets as well but who knows. Also, they are not on dime planchets and are under and over weight.

    Not a nice reply.

If you "know what I got" then why not tell us.

I apoligize; I was just trying to make a post and then track my progress to show. They do look a little typical from these pics but I assure you they are another metal. I am having them tested at NGC just as soon as I can. Just thouhght I would share. You might be very amazed at the slabs when ceritfied; they should state what metal or metals these are made of

I don't understand. If you know what you have, then why did you put question marks (??) in your title.

you truly would have to hold these and witness the silver sheen in the light. These lincolns are also not burnished to make them look this way either. Thanks for your replies

As far as composition and the mystery of whether or not these could be foreign planchets or of an experiment; that is why I dont 100% know what I have. They appear to have some sort of india ink on the surface

Please be sure to report back on these.
We've had many posters brag the same as you then disappear for ever. IMO, that's proof that they really didn't know what they had.

NGC is right around the corner but may be expensive; although I am willing to take the sacrifice even though money is not in abundance. oddest thing; I found a 1943 copper but was far too cull and it took a lot of magnifying to see the date. I mean, the 43 was un-certifiable

IMO, now you are really starting to sound like a troll.

Yeah, but it could have gotten a 'Genuine' label.
Even graded P-01 Genuine, it would have quite a bit of premium.
There's no way I'd pass on having any '43 copper graded.

Unless NGC has changed their rules, only dealers are allowed to bring their submissions to the office (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY).

This may be the biggest load of.... garbage thread that I've ever seen. Claiming three different dates are some mysterious unknown metal that is so rare; yet you found three of them? Then claiming that you found a 43 copper but it wasn't worth the effort to have graded because it was in too poor of condition.

I know for a fact that these 2 are made of unobtainium. The general public will also know, so no need to certify them. KIMG0104.JPG KIMG0105.JPG
