We had one snowfall in Feb. we got 55 cm. in 24 hrs! i also clear driveways/walks for 45 of my Reg. lawn/garden clients....so when I was finished doing 45 driveways with snowblower/ walks/steps with my muscle power and shovel....I was tried and ready for a good nights sleep. We are suppose to get 12cm tomorrow +ice pellets/freezing rain...I will be working Good Friday....
We had a GREEN Christmas this year, then got 42 cm. on 29th December. One Winter 2010 we had 440 cm. of snow. Where I was born in Germany, we had no snow at all, that was close to the famous Medieval City of Julich, known in 1500s as Julich-Cleves-Berg. One of Henry VIII wifes was so ulgy he sent her packing....back to (Julich-Cleves-Berg) one Anne of Cleves. Still, better that then the "Royal Headsman"
I have only had snowfall like you show when I lived in Germany. We had 12 ft snowdrifts against the walls. Huge fun! Anyway, here another Carausius
Nice coin. Back to snow. At least here where I live we have snow mobiles, great trails to ride them. Almost like a highway system for snow mobiles. Mine can go 130 MPH/ best on hard paced icey trails. Machines are faster out of the hole then motor bike. Here is photo...
http://www.forumancientcoins.com/dougsmith/f71.html I've shown my best one too many times but I like my worst one, too. In all honesty I bought it because it was not a Pax and for the H style A's. I wish I had a better feel for the various mints and where the mints stop and barbarous takes over. I see this as European rather than British. No?
snowmobiles are loud and they kinda smell => we merely use leg-power during the winter months (this year, Buster & Larry have enjoyed a pretty mild winter)
We have similar pics as @panzerman I lived in the far North for several years with MASSIVE snowfalls and bitter cold weather that lasted from Oct to May (actually had an 8" Snowfall on 8-May...) I do not live there anymore... And have deemed any snow or cold as AGAINST MY RELIGION!
Great posts guys!!! And thanks for the laughs about the snow---luckily it was a mild winter here this year! I'm getting too old for that crap LOL I just discovered my Carausius is missing from my photo library...I must have deleted it Well, I'll try to post again tomorrow
