http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-U-S-Cu...504664?hash=item27e08480d8:g:blUAAOxyjxlTMo34 $500 for an off center Lincoln without a date?
I know dated ones are worth more but that's just relative to me. How much are dated ones like that worth? And undated ones?
I bought mine, which is bright cherry red and a little bit more off center, for $6. Error dealers literally have trays with dozens and dozens of them. With a date, it would be worth a few dollars more. These are very common, and not worth a huge premium.
Lighting fast shipping...? I suppose if they have Thor to deliver the coin within 5 seconds after you make payment, it may be worth it...
Maybe it is because the seller is counting on the fact that there are so many bidiots on FleaBay. Chris
But how do you know she won't say she's leaving but then goes invisible and spies on you? Although, I guess you can steal her lasso and ask her if she did the next time you see her
Misprint applies to anything that was printed. Paper money has misprints. Baseball cards and comic books have misprints. Coins, which are struck from dies, cannot be misprinted.
In cases like this I usually contact the seller and offer them as many as they will buy at $100 each, as a quick way to get rich since they think they can get $500 each.
I'm certainly glad you got a good laugh out of someone else's ignorance, and I'm sure when you used to ask questions painfully obvious to most on this board, you also had no problem when/if they burst out laughing at you too. After noticing this listing and bringing your laughing under control, did you bother to search through their selling history? While not absolute, it is often a fairly good way to discover if the individual likely has any experience with coins or not. This person, from all outward appearances, is like a great majority of the population and probably knows little to nothing about coins. Perhaps instead of hurrying off to the forum to poke more fun at an adult you do not know, you could have taken the opportunity to educate this individual. A simple reality, and one we see on this forum with some regularity, is that most people assume coins in any way different from the norm, are somehow valuable. Think about it. If you want find something properly labeled and priced, find yourself an honest and knowledgeable dealer/retailer, but if you want to find junk mixed here and there with a few gems, and sold by those who may not know any better, go to a yardsale. Opps.... that's right, you did go to the equivalent of a massive online yardsale and found exactly what one should expect. My bad... chuckle on.
