New Didrachm

    Latest addition is the "big" coin on a trade a did a few months ago. It was on my wishlist for awhile and was finally happy to get it.

    R: YΠATOC ∆ ΠAT ΠA-TPI, Mt. Argaeus surmounted by star.
    Cos IV, struck 183-185 AD.

    Nothing stays sacred. Did you know Mt. Argaeus is a ski resort now?

    Oh well, there is a Mons Argaeus on the moon, which still retains it's original charm.

    Cool didrachm! Even though it is "modern" ancient, the eye gives it an "archaic" look! :)

    I think the Chinese have already staked claim to Mons Argaeus in their last Chang'e 3 landing. They are going to build a resort, including ski runs, hot spas, foot massages, and a roller coaster.
