Had a bit of free time so I decided to take my own, in-hand photos of one of my favorite coins in my collection, my nummus of Galla Placidia. It was something left on the back burner for a while but I decided to do so today. I've added the seller's photos as a comparison. Mine: Seller's Galla Placidia, Western Roman Empire AE nummus Obv: D N GALLA PLA-CIDIA P F AVG, female, pearl-diademed bust right, wearing necklace and earrings Rev: SALVS REI-PVBLICE around cross, T in left field Mint: Rome; Mintmark: RM in ex (struck 425-437 AD) Ref: RIC X 2111
I like your picture better VK. And for once I find an uneven background to adding something to the whole : some kind of mineral atmosphere around this otherwise worn coin, giving the look of a meteorit to it Q
Thanks all. I realize mine isn't a whole lot better but at least some of the devices are clearer (like "Galla" on the obverse and the "PV" in "Reipvblice") and the overall lighting is better.
