So I got my first note under 1000 today, bonus its a binary 00000999 and its a $50 note. Sad sad shame its taped in middle from being ripped in half and has in blue ink the number 550 written on it. I was so happy when I got it but then was so sad when I seen the tape and writing which probably makes it worth the 50 bucks that it is :(

OK so here it is in all it's ,uh, glory. I can only explain this with an analogy, finding this note is kinda like waking up Christmas morning and open presents and you see you got a toy you wanted only to open it up and it be broke, sure you may get another one just as cool someday but just to have it dangled in front of you and not be able to play with it :bigtears: Who knows im not sure about it, maybe someone would like to have it at the right price but IDK. I may let a friend put it on ebay to see if it has any value to anyone..What do you guys think? spend it or at least try? 19961.jpg 19962.jpg

It's a damn shame about its condition. I would list it for sale and see if you can score some extra money. If it doesn't sell then turn it in for face.

yes it is, I seen a co worker the other day taking some dollar bills that a customer gave him that were fresh out of a strap uncirculated and crumple each one of them by the time I was able to stop him he'd already crumpled them all. I explained to him that people collect paper money and he said well it's to hard to separate them with them being so fresh which is true and i've done it myself in the past but knowing what I know now it was gut wrenching to see it done. Luckily they were not anything to get excited over. I will see what happens I dont have a ebay account and to be honest Ive never tried to sell on ebay but friend has one and i'll have him list it if it sells it sells if not I may keep it as a first for me.

I found these in a strap one time. Someone cut up a sheet of notes and did a crappy job of it. DSCF0015.JPG

Just saw the pictures - that's too bad about the condition. Serious collectors won't waste their time on it and novice collectors probably can't afford to spend that much on a novelty. I think that's why you found it in circulation. But you never know about the uninformed bidders on Ebay.

I've come to the decision that its going to go back into circulation, I was going to keep it for myself as a first find for me but I cant sit on 50 bucks just cause it being a first and I dont think any true collector would bother with it and the novice collectors wouldnt pay much more than face and anything I make would be eat up with fee's. Oh well there will be better ones to come I hope :D

Here's a low serial from the same type/design, although different denomination...

Serial # is 00000100, so lower than the one you have now. It looks like it could sell for about $50 and is in much better condition. You would essentially be using the 50 bucks you have now towards this upgrade.

PS. I am not the seller nor do I know them.
