Fake $10 in real ngc holder

That's actually a pretty dumb thing to say if you don't want to possibly clue people in that it's a fake. So obviously we're not dealing with a genius here.

Probably a fake sale using a ghost account to boost their credibility.

That slab and label have issues for sure. He got positive feedback for some gold that sold 10 grams for about $155 bucks. My local shop has had big problems lately with those small gram bars sealed in the cards bring fake. I wonder if that buyer knows what he got other than a perceived good deal.

My friend bought this coin. He says there were pics of a 1901, real NGC $10 gold and received THIS coin instead. I just put 2 and 2 together when he emailed me these pics today. He asked for a return and the seller never responded, so eBay approved a return, but tracking indicated the address was "undeliverable." So he filed the complaint and got his refund from eBay today. He says the "coin" is probably on his way back to him since it was a false address. Here are the pics...

 

I'm new here so I may not be seeing what you all see. First I went to the Ebay link in the original post. There was a photo of an 1902-S $10 cert #3241813-020 called bad.

Then I looked on the NGC website for cert#3241813-020 to verify the coin was graded.

Both coins look the same to me with a black spot near the nose. Am I looking in the right place for the counterfeit?

 

Too bad it wasn't a gold Mideast fake as then he'd at least have the gold . Doesn't feabay check sellers addresses or IP addresses ?

 

This coin is 101% counterfeit!..
#1- the date numeral style is wrong.
#2- the coin is nowhere near MS63.
#3- the stars are laughable.

 

Dang it, I totally missed this. Anybody grab pics from the listing by any chance?

Yep !! Thats the ebay listing . Im the buyer.If i rember right i could not blowup his pic's. I should have known better with only 3 feedback an one negitive. Plus had two coins pictured . Lesson learned for me , dont get in a hurry , as i was bidding on 4 gold's that day.

 

Did you return it? Leave negative?

 

I returned it . Ebay gave me the address , but it was undeliverable, so im hoping to get it back. That was 3/19/16 ,but i haven't got it back yet. Ebay pulled the listing so i could'nt leave neg feedback

 

Do you remember the seller ID? I would like to check and see if he still sells fakes
