Here ya go a nice XF specimen of an 1869 Shield with a die crack what 350 +/- degrees?
Here's the progression of the crack from the right side up around the cross and down the left side through the leaves to the arrow head then turning back across the shields bottom to the right arrow. 1869 Shield Nickel 5.jpg 1869 DC1.jpg 1869 DC 2.jpg 1869 DC4.jpg 1869 DC5.jpg 1869 DC 7.jpg 1869 DC 8.jpg 1869 DC 9.jpg 1869 DC 11.jpg

last two images to complete the crack from right to left, this coin is obv. Hub B and rev Hub llc, making it a wide date variety . 1869 DC 13.jpg 1869 DC 14.jpg

Very nice! I love all die cracks, even on 1969's. :) Thanks for sharing! I have a War Jefferson with a North to South & East to West die crack on the rev. I think they're pretty common though.

It's a wonder that die didn't have a piece or two fall off of it. Nice doubling on the date too!!

    1. No that's due to lack of sleep and over worked tired eyes......add fat fingers. I stand corrected 1869 in the title. :wacky:

Don't have the old coins, but here's a newer 1994 with a Die crack from the rim near the S to the 9th column. I just found it in a roll.
