Usually, when I go to a coin show, I got maybe a few hundred dollars to spend at a show with hundred(s) of tables, and I always get overwhelmed for like the first 30 minutes, when I can't think straight. And after every show, I feel like I both got awesome deals, and I always deal with buyers remorse.
Everybody's got their own way I guess but whenever I was at a show and wanted to see something at a particular table and there were people in front of me, I just did what I was taught to do as a kid - I stood in line waited my turn. Ya know, kinda like ya do anyplace you go when it's busy there. Never failed to work.
Women don't usually head for guys my age. And if they did, I'd spend money on something other than coins AND be in trouble with my lady at home! And my conscience, of course. Steve
A cough or two over a shoulder just might clear a spot. Maybe a sneeze if you practice for a good imitation.
Smaller coin shows usually do not have that problem. If you have favorite dealers, they might be at the smaller shows. For instance, my favorite out of town dealer sets up at a show with 300 plus tables, also at a show with 50 tables and also attends shows with 20 tables. This might help out sometimes. Also my coin club promotes a show and our complaint is that we do not have enough patrons. In my opinion, dealers promote coin shows to promote their our goods and buy for stock. If it was not for the dealers buying back and forth, the smaller shows would not be profitable. CW
I like to go to shows an hour before it starts. Depending the show, you can pay extra for early admission. I'm very Impatient and greedy too, so it works great for me!!!
I mostly ever attend one local show and the dealers I buy from all know me. They usually do the dirty work and clear out the "spectators" when I come to them. Afterall, they know I have cash and I spend it with them. The bigger shows require some effort. You have to be firm yet polite to clear the non-buyers out of the way. Honestly, I don't really care if they get mad, I'm on a mission!
If you get to choose your seat (at least on the larger planes) there are usually front rows by the side exits that have no seats in front of them. Of course you give up having a pull down tray (you have to use the side one) but it gives lots of leg room! But some flights you don't have much choice.
Yeah I know, last time I flew, 10 year old 4 feet tall kids were sitting in the front, getting awesome leg room, while I can barely sit! Thanks for telling me
All good methods. But I also have been known That's when you talk to the parents and ask if they are willing to have the kids sit elsewhere. Some parents are actually nice and will do this to accommodate others. If not, ask the steward/stewardess to reseat the others so you get the leg room. I think that a 6 1/2 foot guy should not have to squish inbetween seats.
