I guess my oldest coin is an 1804 Napoleon 20 French gold franc. he was only the premier consul or something then.
Yeah in 12/02/1804, they had to strike another coin in honor of the new title of Power. I am currently looking for the 1802 coin. You good Sly.

I think the question was "oldest coin," not coins. However, let me list a few. Several ancients. Some English coins from the 1700's. A U.S. large cent. And, a "mystery coin" that I would love to have members of this forum look at sometime, and evaluate. It was given to me by a friend, who had no idea what it was. As I recall, it looks copper, about the size of a quarter. Not sure of the language. Looks very old. Bottom line is I misplaced it a number of years ago. I hope it's in my safety deposit box. When I find it, I'll certainly share it.
GD I would have thought you would have had an OLD coin...not one soooo new I remember when you found that one Speedy
My oldest coin is an ancient coin that Catman gave me- he told me what it was but it's slipped my mind. Help a lady out Steve? Besides that, it's the 1859 Canadian large cent that I found in the coin counter a few weeks ago-- I think. I'd have to dig out my type set album to check for sure. Rachel
