Ancients => Hadrian's sweetie, Sabina (yup, another chick-coin)

Apparently 2016 seems to be the year that I add a bunch of chick-coins to my animal farm?!

=> yup, this is the 3rd lovely Roman lady that I've added and we're only 3 months into the year!! (maybe I do like women more than animals?!!)

    :bear:

    ... anyway ...

For whatever reason this sweet example caught my eye (it has a nice look/feel about it, yes?) ... and then when I went searching for similar examples, I found very few (that always makes me feel even better about my coin-targets) ... I actually didn't find any examples, but I'm pretty sure that the true sleuths on this site will be able to track-down a few examples, considering that there is a RIC number, etc, etc (please feel free to help a brother out and post any other similar examples, thanks)

    ... sorry, I digress ...

Regardless of other examples, this baby seemed to be asking me for a new permanent home, so who am I to say "no" right? (I quickly struck a sweet deal with one of my few Canadian ancient dealers and now she's packing her bags and getting ready to move to northern Manitoba, that lucky girl, eh?)

=> please feel free to add your Sabina examples, Hadrian examples, Venus examples ...... oh, and I'd really appreciate if somebody found me a similar example whether it's in your own stuff, or whether it's merely on-line (thanks in advance, my awesome coin family)

That is a lovely example Steve. I only have this one. Cleaned to the metal, it is probably worth about $1, but there is something about her ghostly image that makes me like this coin. Of course I would like an upgrade, but I wouldn't get rid of this one.

That's a sweet Sabina, Steve-O! I don't have any :(. One of these days I'll at least get an Alexandrian Sabina.

Your new coin shows the fancy hair 'up' option which I only have as a fourree. More common is the 'down' style. I suppose now you will be going after the women of Trajan???

Very nice coin, Steve. Your type with Venus holding a helmet seems to be much scarcer than the type with her holding an apple. Perhaps someone with RIC can verify this. This acsearch.info search resulted in 23 denarii and 2 sestertii, all with apple:
    http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?similar=1387302
I found only two with helmet at that site:
    http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=499042
    http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=1277198
CNG's database has at least 50 examples with apple, but only these two with helmet:

wow, awesome => thanks for your efforts, ancientnut (I really appreciate your help)

Funny, because I ran across a couple of those examples, but I dismissed them, for I thought that my example was a bit different (my example doesn't seem to have a good "shield" leaning against the column) ... yah, so I figured that my example was different from those you found, but perhaps my example merely has a poorly struck shield, or my shield is worn away?

=> thanks again for your help

    cheers

Well, I may as well toss-in my Hadrian examples (The Hubby) ...

=> "please" feel free to post any of your examples (it seems like a pretty sweet and easy Sunday pile-on thread) ... pick anything that's related and that you want to post (I'm pretty easy, my coin-friends)

When I first read "Hadrian's sweetie", I thought you were going to post an Antinous :D. But hey, that's an awfully nice Sabina! I have a homely as of hers somewhere around, but it looks like I'm two years behind photographing some of my coins...

    Formidable !
I just love portraits of hers with this hairstyle (same for the younger portraits of Faustina Jr), but unfortunately haven't got any.

I can only provide the pile-on thread with a regular portrait, which I feel is less attractive (pardon me other folks who, like me, have only that one).

Once again, one can notice how much the ladies look alike their husbands on their coin portraits !!

But also, can I add my all time favorite hot Venus reverse of Julia Titi (kids, it's now time for your sunday afternoon TV show)
