This Roman coin is puzzling me. It weighs 2.2 g. with only 13 mm. of size. RIC rates a similar one of Honorius in Heraclea as R2(very rare)- A3 Ric X- 407. But it also rates another similar one of Theodosius II in Constantinople as scarce- A4 Ric X- 410. I can't tell whether my coin represents Emperor Honorius or Theodosius II. I also wonder if the abnormal line separating the 2 facing emperors on reverse is a clear die-crack ? TheoII Cons Scarce.jpg TheoII Ric X- 410.jpg

It is almost assuredly an Honorius ae3 type from Constantinople (it sure looks like CONSA or B in exergue) as the obverse legend appears to be - VS PF AVG to the right of the bust, the Theo II coin would show - SIVS PF AVG

This is probably RIC 409 which is shown as common.

See Type 52 on the page about AE types from RIC IX:

    http://esty.ancients.info/ricix/

It likes the OP coin has a legend break -VS which belongs to Honorius.
