I recently found this nickel while roll hunting and noticed that the TY in LIBERTY looked filled in. Is this an error or just PMD? If it is an error, is it worth anything? image.jpeg image.jpeg

That's a cud. Nice find. Can you crop the tabletop from your pictures?

Cool error, I'd keep it cause I doubt you would get much money for it but that's just my honest opinion. thumbsup.gif

The pictures were taken from my iPad, so I don't think so.
How much do cuds usually sell for?

Anywhere from $5 to $50. I would say your might fetch 20-25

The ability to crop photos, be it taken with the internal camera, saved and/or downloaded to, is a very common feature on such devices today. While not personally familiar with the iPad, I'd be shocked to learn that cropping isn't an option available to you.

As for the coin, cool find and congrats. Value-wise it certainly has a substantial premium compared to what you have into it, but the actual dollar amount you're likely to get for it isn't going to be much. With a coin such as this your best bet is likely to search ebay, preferably for past sales of the same variety, but even similarly sized, while still paying close attention to overall condition, could/should help to give you a reasonable idea of what it may (not will) bring if offered for sale.

You should find this interesting and, perhaps, helpful as well (yours is, obviously, the first shown).....

Wow, when I first found it I figured it was PMD, but I kept it anyway just in case. I sure am glad I did!
