Super excited about winning this one. Would they grade this these days, and still label it an error? I don't know whether to get it graded by NGC, and keep the ANACS label with it, or just keep it as is.

Wow! I used to own that coin! Sold it about 18 months ago! In-hand, I thought it was cleaned, so I'd keep it as is. JMO

As long as you use the error service they should, depending on the company you use there is a chance you could end up with a details grade if you did not use the error service

Crazy! Do you mind me asking how you sold it, and for how much? I wonder if the current owner tried grading it, and it did not straight grade. It looked familiar to me, but I might have been remembering another similar one. I could always try grading it, and if it does not grade, bust it out and keep it as is. Of course, this could change once I get it in hand.

Thanks, man. I bought that in a small collection locally. Think I paid $250 and it sold for around $450? Can't remember.

Wow.. I just saw is as a newly listed buy it now, and jumped all over it. Price was $290, which I thought was a great deal.

I'd probably keep it as is, but I suppose there's no harm in trying to get it slabbed. If you do, send it to ANACS. :)

If you do, I would not submit the cert. I won't be viewed as a cross-over and I'd hate for it to get lost or not returned. Any TPG (including ANACS) will grade it as "raw". The unique characteristics of the coin as documented in the photographs will prove it to be the same coin once slabbed.

Note that the original photographic negatives are in the ANA Museum in Colorado Springs and can probably be found. The original ledgers up to when they switched over to the 1st database are there too (the database is lost)...

    It would probably details slab.

That is why ANACS gave a N/A grade

I would keep the cert, and just submit the coin. The way I figure, if it does not grade, I can break it out and it will still be with the cert anyways.

Possibly. I thought I saw a little luster in the seller pics, but not sure in hand. I still might grade it, but I'm not in a rush to.
