just bought this off Ebay toned Canadian 1965 quarter. link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-GEM-BU...j%2BE4eq2McDCdqO7CnZ4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Nice old toned gold. Looks like clash marks near the 5 on the reverse and above the cap on the obverse, right?
You are correct sir... those are clash marks, but they're nothing like the ones on my 1811 example - note the eagle's "ghost" wing in the left obverse field: 'dude
Another incredible old gold coin. You can see not only the wing on the obverse, but the banner and part of the leaves... and then the whole bust on the reverse! Wow!
Exactly... you can see pretty much all the outlines of the reverse on the obverse, and vice versa. It's quite an interesting coin to examine in hand. Here are my pics: 'dude
Before I post these next few Roosevelt's ....I like to thank Mike @ Toughcoins ,As he was the trading partner whom I received all these really nice toned, as well as some really nice varieties Roosevelt's. Mike truly a pleasure to do business with... Thanks again!
I have bought four coins from ToughCoins and they are all standouts in my collection. Mike is awesome.
Like a setting Sun Bob! I swear are you a magician during the day? Because you're always pulling a toned rabbit out of the hat!
You ever notice on 1866 coins the last 6 is always larger than the other 3 digits ? The coin posted is an RPD -001 1866/66 Interesting thing is this obv. And rev. Working die was used to strike both proof and business strikes.
