Worst case scenario, I get my money back through ebay because they are counterfeit and some unsuspecting soul doesn't get ripped off, right? Nothing but upside, which is very unlikely. Sure, go for it but I hope you know a 78o morgan is counterfit. I'm guessing from your statement though that it was a multi coin lot. Other morgans?
Yes, more than 1 1878-O lol Preventing them from getting out into the marketplace, plus I want to see them first hand, as an educational tool. Hoping/expecting to get to keep them along with my refund, but who knows. If pressured to return them, I'll turn them over to the Feds here in Boston and get a receipt.
Just checked on eBay. One was an 1878-P, no mintmark, and the other was an 1889-O. I sent a message to each seller. It'll be interesting to see if the auctions are retitled.
