    Nice coin !!
I think it's not the correct reference. RIC 1717(R3) is with "cuirass", but your's is with "curule chair", so RIC 1716(R).

    I'm sorry....

VK's new coin is far better than what Honorius got. VK got a very decent silver bust but all Honorius got was Jovinus' severed head for his growing collection of usurpers' tops he had on display. Being a puppet emperor had its downside.

Those interested in this period might enjoy (or, perhaps, be warned by) the above CNG listing of a Sebastianus which discusses the controversy over what is fake and what is not. Thankfully, I am not interested in the period so I will not be tempted.

Nice Jovianus! I could kick myself now....Rauch had a stempelglanz Jovianus Solidus Nicomedia mint for 4500E starting bid, I won that Pulcheria Tremissis that auction. Should have instead gotten Jovianus solidus or both and gone into DEBT.
What an idiot, wheres the brickwall.

Ok so I had a bit of time and took my own photos of it. I am very satisfied with the results:

Sneakily watching R-rated movies, noname? :D Just jokes, it really is a good movie, recently rewatched it myself.

Wow @ValiantKnight , wonderful write up, and excellent brush-up on history. Love your siliqua, beautiful coin, and I am sure well worth the sacrifice!

I only have one siliqua, but it is defective: it has a hole it it. I don't have a Iovanus, though. Wow, Iovianus is a tough Emperor to capture, but I see yours, and @stevex6 has one! ...and I am looking for one also.

Glad you like my coin and thread Alegandron! As to your siliqua, a holed siliqua is better than none IMO :D

Ok! Thanks, here is my Siliqua... one and only at that...

Personally, I think the Siliquae are the foil tops to wine bottles! Spreading 1g of silver over a 16+ mm area is a pretty cheap representation of fiat money! :D

We have the same taste in coins.. Congratulations! Awesome acquisition, and now you need Sebastianus!

Thanks Greg. Sebastianus is one of many, many dream coins that I want. Now I feel even more obligated to get him eventually!
