Well I do agree on one thing....I liked your reply as it does show to me that most all coin grading where it be a major company or a smaller grading service that coin grading is at most just an opinion. Perhaps some have a higher opinon of a coin than others. Coin Grading is like a term used in medical science as it is not an exact science but more an opinion of the person making the call. I respect your answer to my post and this is my opinion as others my not either respect your post or my repost to your post. Hey it is there opinion right?
It is a beautiful coin. The ear is well defined and it is only the amount of wear to the hairlines that keeps me from giving this coin a grade of XF-40. That and the fact that I'm a really tough grader!:hammer: However, I agree that you did quite well on that purchase. $75 for a coin as scarce and beautiful as that half cent is a bargain. That coin has a mintage of only 141,000 and God only knows how many of those coins survived in a state as attractive as that piece. I'm sure the total number can't be many. Congratulations on picking up such a beautiful and rare piece of our nation's history. In my opinion, all U.S. Half Cents are grossly undervalued.
