Dark Toning on Proof Sets

    I just bought a run of proof sets from 68-93. A handful of them are rather dark - almost a titanium color. Never seen this before. Is this typical? It's not unattractive. Color is very even

    Pictures would be nice. :) I can say, however, that toning on proof sets is nothing unusual. As long as it's not ugly toning, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe put the coins in some more inert holders if you want to prevent additional toning, but that's it.

    Yeah, nothing to worry about there. The nickels actually look quite attractive to me. I'm not a fan of the apparent haziness on the '69 half, but it happens.

    I wouldn't worry about the toning or the haze. You can sell them for a bundle because the mintmarks are in different places for each denomination. J/K!

    I wouldn't worry too much about the toning. What I would worry about is the apparent condition of that Kennedy Half. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the original coin was removed and a lesser version inserted.
