I have been eyeballing this coin for awhile, and was able to pick it up! I have seen very few toned gold, and this one looks like it has potential. Seller pics are crappy, and the NGC pics are always crappy as well. I hope it is a nice addition to my avatar toned Indian. I will post new pics when it arrives. I would be cautiously optimistic. I purchased what I thought to be a nicely toned Indian QE in a PCGS MS-63 OGH. When I received it, the "toning" actually looked like it was on the surface, like some residue that remained from an improper rinse. It looked like the area "turned" in the holder at some point since being slabbed. I promptly returned that coin to the seller for a refund. 'dude
Got the coin in hand today. Has gorgeous pink/red colors, mainly on the obverse. The whole reverse has a slight pink tone, but it did not show up in the pictures as well. The edge has the purples/blues that my avatar coin has on the main surfaces. I am very pleased with it! I am addicted to toned gold now

I asked him if he could let me know where he bought this one from, and he really didn't give an answer. He is a pawn shop, so either he doesn't remember, or just doesn't want to tell for privacy issues.
Pawn shops are legally required to keep records of that stuff. He knows, but he's not telling, and I wouldn't really expect him to. Great coin! I prefer the purple tones to the reds, but this is very nice, indeed. Do these carry crazy premiums like rainbow Morgans?
I've been looking for some toned gold for awhile now for my toned 7070 I am in the process of assembling. I love how toned gold looks,very hard to find. They have a few pieces on the Flea but they are a bit overpriced for my liking. Do you have any other toned gold denominations? Or just quarter eagles?
