Scoping out a few coins for a close friend of mine when I ran across this little gem. An 1951 D Franklin Half possibly a new RPM. I did some research the usual places CPG, Wexler, Variety vista, and Franklin lovers. I searched out all the RPM's for this date and MM. Guess what I found like 4,and none of the four match this one. 1951 D Franklin DC.jpg 1951 Franklin MM RPM RP.jpg

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I would suggest sending it to James Wiles at CONECA. If it is a new variety, he'll list it in the official variety files on the website. Information can be found on the CONECA webpage, or you can find his contact info here: http://conecaonline.org/content/coneca_attributers.html

Mike Diamond has posted in another forum he believes it to be MD. I am not an expert on varieties but have been on the fence with this one as I see it ...it could go either way . The rotation of the mm says yes. The underlying D's that look to be MD. I guess we will roll the dice on this one.
