I have an 83 but not sure if it was plated silver.

 

The genuine coins are quite scarce. As you can see in his pictures, this coin exhibits cartwheel luster. Plated coins do not have cartwheel luster. 99.99+% of the ones asked about on internet forums are PMD. Usually the result of a simple high school chemistry experiment - all the way to something as simple as soaking in a coke can.

 

BTW bro....AWESOME coin! The luster comes through nicely, I bet it looks better in hand.

Does it weigh out exact or is it light?

 

That's a KEEPER, this are tough in that condition. Here's some I found searching OBW rolls, much more typical of the issue.

 

It does have that new luster look.

 

I've never weighed it. I would assume it is probably lighter.

They are pretty muck mark free. Nice.
