I really wanted this but the bidding went crazy at the last 2 minutes.

I think it still may have been worth the $87!

What do all of you think?

My wife already thinks I'm obsessed with coins. That may push her over the top but I love it.

Hang in there Nate. They show up on EBay regularly. Just click here to see an open auction, or click here to see some that sold in the last 30 days.

Personally, I like to have one library in the house with no numismatic literature. :D

I think I can finally say it:

those are coins that I hope get a regular cleaning...

    god, I crack me up.

I did notice that other one for $64 but it doesn't say what coins are in it. I asked the seller so hopefully he'll get back to me. I have a feeling they are modern coins.

The one that went for $87 seemed to be special since it had 1960's coins in it. The seller said they were uncirculated too.

I know a coin dealer that has a VERY COOL one. It's got an UNC 1899 $5 silver cert...the Un Papa note (Indian chief) right in the center and has some silver dollars and barber stuff in it. I've asked him several times to sell it to me but it was a wedding gift so he is reluctant to part with it...yet.
    I'll keep trying!

Is this a case of buy the coin and not the holder, or buy the holder because of the coin?
