A net grade at best would be a 61 and possibly 62. There are some issues and I'm not sure if they're from the flip or on the coin. The face is really choppy and you won't get over a 62 with that - ever. Obverse shows residue in the field under the "L" in Liberty. That leads me to believe someone attempted to clean it - also it's very bright - another tell. There are a lot of scrape marks on the coin, this leads me to believe it is probably going to come back AU. The reverse shows nicely, and my normal "tell" is along the shoulder of the Eagle. That appears bright and has luster in it. That says to me that little handling - if any was done. It could be the photo lighting as well. It's a nice coin and although the pictures aren't the best, I'd say the worst you would do is an AU details grade. It might go MS.
Shiny with a neat die crack. I can't really tell much beyond that for the lighting in these pictures.
Grade is probably 58-61. There are a lot of doubled obverses for 28-S as well. Check TRVST, as that's where they often show up.
Oddly enough, in these images I'm not seeing the cheek problems that most seem to. The biggest worry to me is the damage under the T in UNITED and the L in PLURIBUS which likely makes this a Details coin. For anything else I'd want images of much higher contrast to settle the "cheek issues" once and for all. Look closer at TRVST. I didn't see anything at VAMworld resembling what looks like strong northward doubling of the T, although that could be MD. If you're into it (and he's willing), it would be a nice thing to ship this to John for attribution; that crack is a "smoking gun" pickup and ought to be a matter of record at VAMworld. Peace Dollars aren't getting the attention they should, and any potential addition to the body of knowledge is a good thing, even if it's only an entry (for the moment) into the VNA for the issue.
It might be a details grade because of the scrape under United. if not, I would say 61-62 as they rarely give 60's anymore.
It's baggy and got spots, but the luster looks strong. I don't see any wear in these pics. I'd bid 61 on it, but hope for 62.
