    Spock1k,this is a Netherlands Indies 1/10 Gulden from what is now Indonesia.The Dutch Indian settlements existed prior to 1845.The obverse inscriptions are Arabic & Javanese.

    Why are they in arabic? If oit was meant for india and the arab world?

    Spock1k,Indonesia is an Islamic country,so the use of Arabic on the obverses of the Netherlands Indies coins reflects this.Indonesia is also a multilingual country as well.
