I thought you guys might enjoy this video I have just put on YouTube about my 1911-d Indian head $2.5 discovered during grading by NGC
He shoots, he scores. I take it you were unaware of the rarity of the 1911-D before? There are known die markers to those who are aware of what to look for even if the MM is invisible. So congratulations, you're north of $2000 richer in assets.
Awesome! A lot of us live and breathe for the thrill you're feeling now... Enjoy it while it lasts and in the future every time you get it out and hold it that feeling will briefly rush back.
That sure is more fun than opening the box and seeing one say improperly cleaned when you wasn't expecting it. Nice job.
At first I didn't know anything then I started looking stuff up. NGC has another find at the moment so I hope that gets a good grade. It is a BG109 and might be ms63 or ms64 perhaps so fingers crossed.
Wow. I'm not an expert on fractional gold, but I don't see any clear sign that it's not a genuine example. Yeah, you're on a roll.
Brand new one. They shifted all the text to the left. I didn't like it at first and still don't but I can stand it now so I guess it's growing on me albeit slooowly
I actually rather like it. One advantage of the design is it gives them less room to fill up with extraneous verbiage unless they want to cover the scales.
For those of us who don't know gold - explain the significance of your find, and the markers which identify it.
Here is the PCGS Coin Facts link. http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/7954 There are a few die characteristics on it. The tip of the reverse arrows has a raised die line in the recess between the arrow tips and field. Found even on very low grade specimens. But the picture doesnot show this very well. I have learned something more about this date as it is one I have always wanted but never did get one.
