Hello All, does anyone know of a new government minted coin series that just started this year or in 2015? I am interested in buying a roll of a particular series each year but I would like to start at the beginning. It seems that finding the right series can be a good investment which I can flip for a profit so I can get another pre-33 gold... I gotta have more pre-33. more.. more... more....

An example is the Somaili Elephant 1 oz. The prices are crazy.. JM has them
    2008 is $95 per coin
    2009 is $75 per coin
I would pick up the 2016 but feel like to many are on them now..

any idea fellow enthusiasts?? $748 so far........

The "hard truth" is that you need to perform the legwork yourself rather than ask others to tell you how you can make money. Don't you think they would be doing it for themselves before they passed it along to someone whom they don't know?

I'm kinda wondering if there shouldn't be a "How to Make Money in Coins" forum?

Great idea! We can combine it with "What's it Worth" and put it on a Shanghai website.

Completely True!!! But why do the legwork if someone else has already done it for me. That would take time and time (along with money) is what I am short of at this point. But just for arguments sake I did not ask for anyone to tell me how to make money. I only asked if anyone... well heck, here it is:

"------Hello All, does anyone know of a new government minted coin series that just started this year or in 2015?------ I am interested in buying a roll of a particular series each year but I would like to start at the beginning. I was just asking basically (innocently, I add) if anyone knew of a new series that started this or last year. I completely agree that the first sentence can be misunderstood or interpreted to mean exactly what your response implies. But, the rest of it is just plain fact. I am interested in buying a roll from the beginning of a series AND it can be a good investment. Facts... not questions, just the facts mam... Case in point the Somali elephant coins I referenced. Having said that, I would not buy anything on someones opinion or recommendation without looking at it from 10 different angles. In a way, one of those angles is exactly what I was asking for. By the way, does anyone know of a new government minted coin series that just started this year or in 2015?

Hello Hard Truths, Yes, I do believe that The Royal Canadian Mint started a new series this year. it is called the "Predator Series" and the first release is the 2016 1 oz Canadian Silver Cougar. I do like the coin and am considering it myself. Glad I could help and let me know what you think. Enjoy your evening Hard Truths and remember, get yourself some pre-33.....

The 1.25 oz silver buffalo started in 2015 and the new 2016 design is out but I think 2015 looks better personally. They are made by RCM and exclusively sold by MCM although other bullion sights may have small amounts they've purchased through MCM or 3rd party. That said, they seem to be somewhat popular both in terms of design (buffalo is a hot design for obvious reasons ie the nickles, gold bullions, thoughts of the old west etc)... But will they catch fire in 5-10yrs causing premiums on the early ones to skyrocket like pandas, kooks, Libertads etc is the question

Your best bet is to check the Royal Canadian Mint. They have many coins series to choose from.

Thanks for the reply Cascade and jpcienkus. They (RCM) have some awesome coins and so far I am leaning toward their Predator series that started this year. It's only going to be a 4 coin series which makes it manageable.. It's funny because right before I came back here and read your reply I was checking out Libertads which cascade mentioned. I like some of the Privy Maple Leafs also like the Grizzly and the Mark V that came out this year.

I just checked out the 1 1/4 oz buffalo and that went right to the top of the list. Nice coin....

Because random people on the internet aren't going to just shout out how they figured out how to make money. It is like anything else in life, by the time people are speaking publicly of it they have firmed up their positions and it is already to late. It is like when Warren Buffet says to buy a stock, if hes telling you you already missed the boat and he bought what he wanted and now just wants interest in it to be driven up.

Some people will be happy answer questions but since it took them time and effort to figure it out in the first place you really aren't going to get any magic responses of people just giving that knowledge away.

I am not trying to be a jerk but you just need to be aware of the fact that if it was as easy as making a thread and getting insider knowledge passed on everyone would be doing it

OK, and I am not trying to be a jerk either but who would listen to "Random people on the internet" :vulcan::pigeon::greyalien: like you mentioned anyways?? You might be right, I'm sure someone would jump and spend $550 on a roll because of a random persons opinion on the internet. those people are out there and I'm sure this very minute the buyer is sitting home dreaming of selling the coins in a few years so they can retire to some tropical paradise where the weather is warm and the women beautiful, tanned, and easy...

Also, "magic responses"... I'm not even going to waste my time with that.. that "why should I" response I made was a joke to another DS comment but please read the original post to have an idea before jumping in. It was an honest and simple question which somehow turned into me wanting state secrets and water boarding people.

C'mon fellow coin enthusiasts. This is a coin forum correct? Websters for forum: "a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged"... pretty simple to me.

Having said all that, I do respect your view even though I don't agree with it. To not respect it would mean I am narrow minded. the biggest lesson I have learned in school so far is that Life is to freaking short to be narrow minded. .

I am sick and have Pre-33 Gold fever... $826 and counting.

baseball, I am aware and please don't take offense to my reply. Great example with Buffet also.

I think a better question, or even a poll would be: what series does the community think is a good buy/bargain and/or sleeper????
Peace dollars, Standing Liberty quarters come to mind;)
