What do you guys think? This stood out in a roll like a soar thumb in a roll. I can read fine print easily up to 6" on obverse. Same with reverse although the light toning and design makes it harder to photo.. I don't think I've ever seen a PL ike come to think of it and there's no real cameo on this coin just mirrored fields. And the surfaces don't looked messed.with
I'm tired and was just going for being able to show the words in the mirrors then realized I didn't get straight on pics as I was posting. I'll add some in the am
Boy, I can't find much info or pics of PL ms ikes. No wonder I can't remember seeing any in the past. I found this ike group thread though. Wonder if I should send mine to ngc to try to get the designation http://forum2.ikegroup.info/viewtop...d=d435315e3518acab26c0596b5dcb722b&view=print
Looks like that one in the ike group thread sold for $1100 after relisting. Not sure if it actually sold though? Maybe lee can shine some light on PL ikes for us. And, @19Lyds do you remember what the ngc 65 PL looked like? Anything like mine? Pics are gone
It was an all 76d plastic tube roll from a lot of 24 rolls I bought advertised as being a safe deposit box stash from a fox valley or silvertown auction I think. I have found many peg legs, talon heads an FEV etc that the lot was definitely unsearched but that's all I know
Looks like you hit the jackpot. I often tell people that you'll sometimes hit things like this. There are so few people collecting moderns that sometimes the cherried mint and proof sets and the other coins will appear at the same price. It kindda averages out; you'll see twenty picked over mint sets one day and another you'll see a group of cherries.
