Thanks saltysam! Now the only one that is missing from my small-size legal tender collection is this one...
Found this on eBay, nice $10 1934 LGS note. == == == Snagged this from Heritage auction; nice 1934D $20 Narrow, the PMG == holder doesn't indicate it's a Narrow variety however. Error holder, hmm? ==
An update to a post I made on this thread back in January. Just back from authentication and grading. I am thrilled with the grade but disappointed in the notation on the holder. I would consider it a Major Faulty Alignment error and not a cutting error.
Steve; How did you manage to get Series 2009? Isn't it the series that had all the printing problems and was never released? The Federal Reserve sent them back to the BEP as unacceptable. It was the reason the 2009A came about. Were the star notes not part of all the original problems?
I found the one I posted on eBay. @Numbers can probably answer the "what did the BEP do with them" question better than me. I'm guessing the BEP inspected, and salvaged what they could of the series 2009 $100 notes, and just finally released them.
I'm going to guess that the print run information on the series 2009 $100's should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm not sure anyone, except the BEP, knows how many notes were not suitable for circulation and were destroyed.
A lot of hundreds have been passing through. Which ones are worth saving? So far, I've seen only a couple star notes and none with interesting serial #s. Thanks
