I recently found a 1953 double D. I know, it is not the 1953 with the shadow of a D directly below. This error is the D slightly offset on top of another D. Any news or comments?
Welcome to the neighborhood, Greg! The technical term for this type of variety would be a Re-Punched Mintmark (RPM), but we would need to see a good close-up photo. Chris
There are a lot of RPM wheat cents from the 40's and 50's that may not be in books. There are just too many. That also makes it fun to look because there are pretty good odds you'll find something.
