    What part of this makes you think there is a broken die?

    Die Deterioration or Machine Doubling. Apparently, Philly uses their die's way past their recommended shelf life.

    Though it appears to have a significant gravel rash, you may have a legitimate doubled die there. Split serifs are a good indicator.

    Hommer that's what I thought MD what about the aeches thread what's going on with the doubling their ?

    I don't see any splits, only MD. I wouldn't really refer to those as die breaks, just chips.
