Unusual Surface on a 84 D Dime

    The obverse of this 1984 D dine I got in change has a odd cracked and sunken in surface on Roosevelt's bust. I'm not sure if this is an error or the result of post mint damage.

    I'm not too well studied with lamination and defective planchet errors which are the few things that come to mind.

    Whether it's an error or purely PMD, I figure I'll learn something new with this.

    Really hard to tell with just one photo that is kind of blurry. I'd only be guessing, but I'd guess it's PMD due to the coloration/look. Any chance of getting another shot of the coin?

    Looks like it could have been burned or roughed up with acid.
