Grateful for your advice. I have been given a few 1c coins from 1888 onwards. I am sure that none will change the world but wondering if there is anything in particular that I should look for with them - any abnormalities? They are all in good but circulated condition. Guessing that in the main they are worth about 1c each? Are they still monitised?

I doubt they are worth only 1 cent each, but there are dozens and dozens of dates, mint marks, varieties, and, condition really matters. Any chance of photos?

There are some varieties starting with the 1888 IHC. That date has two over date varieties . And depending on the other dates and mint marks you may have treasure . I suggest you buy a red book you can find one just about any book store. Even discount book store sometimes have the under $5. A magnifying glass or loop to see the coins details. Sit down and enjoy a hobby that you will enjoy. :)

Well thanks for the offers, all of which gratefully accepted. Did you hear about my postage fees? There are in no way modest!

So had a chance now to go through them and found that most are just maybe a couple of $ each. That said, I have no idea who would actually pay that for them.

Will keep some of the better ones and feed the others back into the system next time we are in the States.
