My prize and joy coin is my 1889-O Morgan Silver Dollar. I love this coin becuase this is the same year my great-grandfather was born. Any way, I was wondering if I should send this coin away to get graded and slabbed ( believe thats the correct term)? Also, my parents are warry of me sending any coins away, what service do you reccommed I use and any ideas on calming my parents fears?

You can view this coin here- http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?p=236412#post236412

    Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! You probably wouldn't want to have it slabbed...the cost of that wouldn't be justified as the coin is only worth the silver melt value. Sorry...

It has more sentimental value than conditional value, I would consider having set in a peice of jewelry if I were you, perhaps a money clip.
