    What Caused this? 45 s linc obv  lam.jpg 45 s linc rev lam.jpg I can see the 1 and 9 in the hollowed out portion.

    Also a Lamination.. that part of the Planchet fell off after the striking of the Cent.
    I recently posted my first ever Error Coin that I found 30 years ago which I had certified by NGC it's not on the date like yours but same issue going on - here it is -

    It's more likely a workman hit it with side cutter. The gauge is too round for a lamination. This was strictly an outside error.
