I will be at the World's Fair of Money this week the 3rd, 4th, and 5th, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The first two days, I will be judging exhibits. On Saturday, I will be speaking at 1:00 PM in the "Money Talks" forum. My presentation is "From Texas to the Moon with John Leonard Riddell." Riddell was chief melter at the New Orleans Mint. He was also the first working scientist to write a science fiction story. My plans are to leave about 3:00 PM. Anyone else?
Trying to get there Saturday sometime. Busy day with the kids dance class and choir performance later that day. Burger lunch at the Rodeo Goat might be in order before heading to the show.
You will have a blast! You won't see everything - you can't, but you will feel like a dog with a new bone! And one of those good meaty ones from the butcher.
You will find me in the Exhibit area. I have some shopping of my own to do, of course, and I have some friends to visit, but mostly, my purpose in being there Thursday and Friday is to judge the exhibits. When you see me, introduce yourself.
Come to the prezzo! Believe me, it will not be crowded. I have given six different presentations over the years. At one, in Pittsburgh, my ex brought her family and doubled the room. At one, in Cincinnati, I brought a friend and that made three in the room - first slot 9:00 AM opening day... I am looking forward to meeting you
I will make a point of stopping by. What do you buy and sell? (The picture is 15 years old and I do not have a mustache now. It was taken in the Coin World library.)
I do not know how the ANA works their Young Numismatist program, but in Michigan, the MSNS organizes the kids to work the show as pages. They run food orders for the dealers and get paid in tips. My daughter could make $100 a day, and I assure you, my wife often suggested to me ... I have never been to a TNA show. I was a member for a couple of years when I first moved here.
Ill be there Friday. I just so happened to find 3 sequential star notes in some of the funds I was planning on bringing. Maybe its a sign?
I attended the Heritage auction last night, electronically. I was able to buy a coin which I am very excited about, and will start a thread about it when it arrives.
