Newly arrived today. I like the style of these, the portraits and lettering. I think I'll be getting more. Tempt me with your examples in any denomination.

SELEUKID EMPIRE. Demetrios II Nikator. First reign, 146-138 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 13.67 g, 1h). Sidon mint. Dated SE 169 (144/3 BC). Diademed and draped bust right / Eagle standing left, palm frond over far shoulder; to left, ΘΞP (date) above monogram; to right, ΣIΔΩ above aphlaston. SC 1954.3a; HGC 9, 969. VF, toned, areas of roughness.

From the collection of David Sellar MVO, former Lord Lyon King of Arms.

Neato. I lost the CNG auction for an Indian coin from that same collection.

Your coin is quite nice. Love it.

Great coin! I love the short, stout style of the eagle. I have not seen that before.

I know that many sources say that the "Thirty Pieces of Silver" paid out to Judas consisted of the shekels of Tyre, but these Seleucid tetradrachmas were so similar in weight, fineness and appearance that I cannot but wonder if some of those pieces were, indeed, tetras like these.
