Oh god that looks delicious, even at 5am. It's been a while since I've had some good SS crab. Nothing quite like it

They were..... my brother in law gave me these two about a month ago . A friend gave them to him right after they slough ed out. He froze them and asked me if I like them.
They were so good lightly floured a little old bay, sautéed in Irish butter. On toast.
One of my favorites to serve to guest is stuffed soft crabs served on a toasted sub roll, with a little garlic butter, lettuce , tomatoes . Stuffed soft crab is stuffed with my crab cakes. Sautéed .

Couldn't agree with you more! When you remove the lungs and cut the mouth/eyes away with scissors, they are still moving...a long time So MD tradition.

I do a poached Halibut in olive oil too that's so yummy.
It's a fast easy dish that will make your guest think you spent hours in the kitchen . When in fact in 20 minutes or less.

Jerry remind me to give you the recipe for the poached fish in olive oil . Would work well with and thick white meat fish. The next time we hook up at a show I'll write it down for you. It's nice as you can filter the oil through a coffee filter and use it on potatoes and green beans as a dressing.
So no waste of the oil..... Rock fish would work very well also!

Jerry if you're ever in Baltimore and want a great soft crab meal try Tio Pepe ' s on Franklin st. They serve you 3 10 to 11 inch soft shells. The only trouble is deciding if you want them as the rest of their menu is just as tempting .
    I know a bit of a ride for you.....but we'll worth it!

Not meaning to bust up the culinary arts, but another really good thing about studying die pairs and atribution, is it helps you to easily spot a fake, even a good one, just by scanning over the details.

I am a MD collector, but haven't really gotten the VAM bug. I have some of the major varieties, but I haven't taken it much further.

Now that I have a little time, I might look through my Morgan collection and see if I can identify some of the VAM's. Might be fun, but it might drive me to the funny farm too...

I respect the dedication of you VAM'er's, I just don't know if I have the attention span to join you.

Start by just comparing yours to the more valuable "list" vams only. There aren't that many per each year/mm save a few dates so you get a feel for vamming without being bogged down and overwhelmed. Plus, the list vams are the value added ones so once you find one and say it adds $100 to your coin then boom, all you wanna do is see if there's more $ in your morgans than you thought... and from there you then start trying to vam.the non list ones when you get bored or want to relax... vamming is VERY relaxing for the most part oddly enough. You're so focused it's like being in a deprivation chamber doing mental yoga

I totally understand. I am a member at VAM World and have been for some time. I just haven't gotten the bug.

I will follow your advice and see if I get the bug. I know I have a GSA with a 80/79 that's not properly attributed on the NGC label.
