....for one quarter. So on the Obv. looks like we have a crack on his shoulder, the "R" is chip filled and a chip between the I N. On the Rev. looks like we have chips on/in the 8's, on the salmons mouth and gills and last but not least looks like clouds/smoke (greased filled) above the mountain, plus (I think) a couple of die chips on the mountain top. I think that's it. Unless you see something else.

Does the "cloud" above the mountain appear to have a slight depression?

I've seen it before on California SQ's. I believe it is the result of a sub-surface die break before it becomes a full-blown die break on the surface. When a fault forms beneath the surface, the die expands slightly so that when the planchet is struck, it produces a recess on the coin. Eventually, the entire chunk breaks away, and you end up with the die break on the coin.

When I was searching bags of 2005 CA SQ's, I noticed similar anomalies above the brim of John Muir's hat. Finally, I found one in the bag that had the complete die break.

Hmmm, interesting facts. Thanks! Okay, so die break and die crack two different things? Because that's a die crack on his shoulder, right?
