Divus Septimius Severus

My collection of Septimius Severus is 90% from the first 10% of his reign. For some time I had one of the two main types of his last coins issued by his sons when he died. Last week I ran across a lower grade (affordable) example of the other. I have mixed feelings about whether I should have bought the coin but the price seemed right at the time. In hand the coin is not bad looking but my photo and a microscope reveal numerous scratches including a letter A graffito behind the head. Had I seen those, I probably would not have bought the coin.

Come to think, my other SS Consecratio issue (with pyre) is no better. If the coin were exactly in my main interest (the early and Eastern coins), I might have been more picky. As it is, I have them both.

Of course, I still lack the sestertius. Maybe someday but they are considerably more scarce than denarii. I also lack the antoniniani attributed to Trajan Decius. There is an AE27 Provincial bronze of Odessos (not too common) which I am happy to show below.

Post your coins of Septimius issued after his death. Also show any Consecration issues for Commodus, Pertinax, Julia Domna or Caracalla (all ridiculously rare). The only other common Severan Consecration is the Decius for Severus Alexander which also come in eagle and pyre varieties.

Nothing to offer in terms of coins other than admiration for the examples. I don't have any.

Different reverses: Eagle on globe; pyre, with facing quadriga on top; draped throne with wreath on seat.

I can't show you any of the ones you mention, but being an avid collector of the Divi series minted by Trajan Decius I can provide the community with those

I'd like a death issue in time. Nice coins, everyone.

You've already posted a nicer one, but I'll throw this in anyway since it's the only Divus Septimius I have.
