My husband actually inherited a collection of coins over 20 years ago and they've all been in a box. I'm starting to catalog them all. I know one side of his family goes way back, but not sure if it's been in the family, or where they got it from.

There's a stamp representing 8 pence and one representing a shilling. It was made in 1655. All I can say.

Yep pirate coin but I don't know about the counter stamp. Welcome to the forum, Jennifer. Just so you know they don't sell for much, at least on ebay they don't. That said, yours looks really nice, I'd keep it. Check out ebay, they don't look as nice as yours. good luck!!

Well, that's cool. Is it from the New World? I thought cobs only came from the Spanish colonies and were only made of silver and gold. Shows what I know!
