It's too bad the thread got locked right when people were starting to come around. I just did this work so I will post it for what it's worth. It's not exact, but it is pretty persuasive. I don't know if I will send this coin in, maybe one day I will if John thinks it's worth it. But I will post four photos that have been spliced from my coin and the PCGS coin. They are split half and half, left to right, top to bottom and vice versa with each coin. These are one half of two different coins spliced together. I promise Mr. moderator I will not react to any cajoling, I am looking to add empirical data to the contested coin. Also, it provides a nice contrast between the mirrors of a PCGS DMPL and an ANACS UDM.
Did you image both the coins? The PCGS coin appears to have good mirrors but not truly amazing ones. I also have a pitted reverse DMPL, they can have amazing mirrors.
Wow, that's some stark contrast. One of the coins is my coin I took with an iphone, the other is a PCGS coin with a picture off of heritage.
I found an even better matching coin on HA archives. These pictures are the same as before, a splice of each coin in four sections. I would love if there becomes an additional stage for VAM 7 called the birdshot variety.
